Terms of Service
Effective August 19, 2026
These terms govern your use of Lantern, the client portal operated by SW Accounting & Consulting Corp (“SW Accounting,” “we,” “us”). By signing in, you agree to them.
What Lantern is
Lantern is a place to read the financial statements and reports we prepare for you. It is a delivery and viewing tool. It does not change the accounting services we provide or the agreement under which we provide them — those are set out in your engagement letter with us. If anything in these terms conflicts with your engagement letter, the engagement letter controls.
Your account
- Accounts are created by us for people you have authorized to see your company's reports.
- Keep your password and sign-in method to yourself; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- Tell us promptly at swyoun@sw-cpas.com if someone should no longer have access, or if you believe an account has been misused.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- try to reach companies or records that were not assigned to you;
- share your credentials, or let someone else use your account;
- probe, scan, or interfere with the security or operation of the portal;
- use automated means to extract data at a scale that burdens the service.
About the reports
The reports in Lantern are prepared from the records you give us and reflect the state of those records at the time each month was published. They are prepared for your use in managing your business and for the purposes described in your engagement letter.
Figures may be revised. If we receive corrected information, a later publication may restate an earlier month. Where a formal, signed, or filed document is required — a tax return, a financial statement for a lender, a report for an investor — the document we issue for that purpose is the authoritative one, not the portal view.
Nothing in Lantern is legal advice, investment advice, or a guarantee of any tax outcome.
Availability
We aim to keep Lantern available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. We may take the portal down for maintenance, change how it works, or discontinue features. If you cannot reach a report you need, contact us and we will get it to you another way.
Your information
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. Our duty of confidentiality as your accountants applies to everything you share with us.
Ending access
You may ask us to close any portal account at any time. We may suspend or end access if an account is misused, or when our engagement with your company ends. Ending portal access does not affect our obligation to retain and, on request, provide your accounting records.
Disclaimers and limits
The portal itself is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties regarding the portal software, such as merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
This limit applies to the portal as software — it does not limit our professional responsibility for the accounting services we perform for you, which is governed by your engagement letter and by applicable professional standards and law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the portal.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will update the effective date above and tell you directly if a change is significant. Continuing to use the portal after a change means you accept the updated terms.
